Ethan Vaz wins the Salcete Taluka Chess Tournament

Chess mastermind Ethan Vaz won the Salcete Taluka Rapid Chess Tournament on Monday, held at BPS Club Complex in Margao. He defeated Reuben Colaco in the final round of the tournament, to clinch the title. 

Reuben Colaco stood second while Vivaan Ballikar had to settle for third place. Other winners from fourth to sixth are Ayush Shirodkar, Atharva Katkar and Kavish Borkar.

Prakash Insulkar and Veena Gomes won prizes in the veteran category. The trophy was awarded by Denzil Kulaso, Uphar by Shilpa and Sunil Ballikar.

Ethan received a trophy and a prize of Rs 2,000. The prizes were distributed in the presence of BPS Sports Club President Santosh George, Salcete Taluka Chess Association President Ashesh Keni, Vice President Damodar Jambavalikar, Secretary Sunil Ballikar and Treasurer Dilip Vernekar.
