The Goa senior cricket team will return to Goa on October 5 after completing its preseason practice in Delhi. After that, the team will rest for a few days and practice at home, according to Goa Cricket Association Secretary Vipul Fadke.
After the preseason camp in Puducherry was cancelled, the Goa team left for Delhi to play some practice matches against Haryana, Delhi and Services. Besides, there will be a few matches against some club teams, said Phadke.
"Goa cricketers will be in Pargavi for more than two months. There will be segregation as per the rules before the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament in November. Before that, the players should get the necessary rest," said Phadke
"Accordingly, the players will get some rest after returning to Goa. After that, there will be a practice session in Goa and matches will also be played against the U-25 team, ” he added.
Goa is in the Elite A group of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 cricket tournament with Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Maharashtra and Puducherry.
The tournament will start in Lucknow on November 4. As per the competition rules, the team's Covid-19 preventive segregation at the centre will start from October 27. Therefore, the Goa team will have to arrive in Lucknow by October 26.
