With Sirvodem SC winning the Vedanta Women's League last season, the team is now aiming to repeat its past performance in the new season. 

With Coach Girijadevi Dessai at the helm, Sirvodem SC was undefeated, registering seven wins and one draw last season. A

After winning the Vedanta Women's League, the team qualified for the All India Women's League, but due to the second wave of Covid-19, the tournament was called off.

Now, Sirvodem SC is determined to qualify for the national tournament by winning the state title once again.

Putting full emphasis on preparation, Girijadevi said, "Right now, we are focused on preparation to win the title again. I am happy with the performance of the girls in the practice session. The championship is in sight, while efforts are underway to fulfil the dream by focusing on every match. Although some players left the team last season, we have retained most of the players. Apart from that, Kolkata's Titli Sarkar is a new player in the team. Efforts are also underway to bring on Raveena from Haryana. We are fully immersed in the practice and the team is motivated to win all the matches in the series. "

Sirvodem SC had a period of about a month and a half to prepare last season. But, this year, the team has only fifteen days to get ready. 

"There will be efforts to have more players from Sirvodem in the Goa team," Girijadevi said. 

Girijadevi has also expressed her gratitude to the players and their parents. "I am grateful to Cowan Lawrence, the owner of the team, for his re-election as head coach. Goalkeeping coach Sandeep Naik also showed full faith in me. Their guidance is very important. The support of the sponsors has made the team's preparation and journey easier, "said Girijadevi.

Girijadevi, who hails from Kunkalli, has represented Goa and Goa University at the national level. She has played for clubs like Mohan Bagan in Kolkata,

 Before her stint at Sirvodem SC, She was coaching the Goa Under-14 Girls' Team and the Goa University Women's Team.
