Futebol Club YFA and defending champions Sirvodem Sports Club registered three points each in the Goa Football Association's Vedanta Women's League football tournament on Monday.
YFA beat Compassion FC 1-0, registering their first victory in the tournament. Jolinda Ferrao scored the only goal of the match to give YFA an unsaleable lead in just 25 minutes.
In the previous match, they were defeated by the Telaulim. The YFA team now has three points after two matches, while the Compassionate team has faced its fourth consecutive defeat.
Sirvodem Sports Club defeated the United Club of Telaulim, 2-0. Defending champions Sirvodem scored two goals in the last four minutes of the games after a gruelling battle against Telaulim.
Captain Nevilla Culaso broke the deadlock in the 86th minute, then Vinoshka Fernandes sealed the victory for Sirvodem in the 90th minute. Sirvodem Sports Club has six points from the first two matches in the tournament. Whereas the United Club of Telaulim suffered its second defeat.
