The fifth season of Goa Football Association's Vedanta Women's Football League will start on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. The tournament comprises five teams from all around Goa.
There will be two matches on the first day of the tournament. United Club Telaulim will take on FC Goa at the Navelim ground while defending champions Sirvodem Sports club will face Compassion FC will play at the Dharmapur ground.
The Vedanta Women's Football League is important for all the teams as the winning team will get a chance to play in the All India Football Federation's Women's League.
Tournament favourites: FC Goa
FC Goa has announced a strong squad with six Indian - international players for the Women's League. Out of the 20-member squad, 15 have represented Goa at the national level. The team will play under the tutelage of Coach Sugitesh Mandrekar.
Sirvodem Sports club - Pioneer Sports Academy partnership
Sirvodem Sports club has tied up with the Pioneer Sports Academy (PSA) in Dubai. The team will enter the tournament under the name Sirvodem PSA Dubai Sports Club. Through this partnership, both bodies will explore various possibilities to grow the team and women’s football in the State.
