The unique ‘Kadda Pooja’ is performed in the village of Kundaim, Ponda taluka, in honour of the Rakhandar (protector spirit) Shri Siddheshwar.

OFFERING

The pooja starts when a man from Shenvi Kundaikar's family makes a coconut offering.

FIRE IT UP

Once the coconut is placed the burning of the grass starts.

FLAMES TO THE FORE

The pooja is performed annually and has been happening for more than 200 years, making it a culturally significant event.

DEVOTION

FIRE UP

The pooja is performed on the last day of the Dhalo utsav, which is a traditional dance form performed by women in Goa.
