AN ARTIST TO REMEMBER

Hailing from the little village of Pomburpa, in North Goa, artist Vamona Navelcar's contributions have left an indelible mark in the art world.

ACRYLIC ON CANVAS

Showcasing the artist's rare works, the exhibition, titled 'Soulscapes: A voyage through Vamona Navelcar's distinctive insight' is currently on show in Taleigao, near Panjim.

LINE WORK

The exhibition features 25 works of the artist that include his signature 'Linework Clown Series', where he has intricately put pen to paper.

SHEER CLASS

Apart from his line works, Vamona also explored mediums like charcoal, crayons etc. and crafted portraits with precision.

MASTER STROKES

The artist worked on several portraits of Jesus Christ, one of his favourite themes. Vamona also embraced and signed his art pieces with the name 'Ganesh'.

FAMILY MATTERS

This is the first exhibition after Vamona's death, and has been curated by his grandnephew, Mandar Panvelkar, who shared a close bond with his Nana.

WHERE TO SEE IT

The exhibition is currently open for viewing, with some works also on sale at Just in a Flash Films Studio, Taleigao, and will continue till May 12, 2024 from 10 am to 8 pm.
