EASY ESCAPE

Don't mistake this for the Parra Madani road, but this stretch that leads to Curca village and Merces from Batim, which is dotted with coconut trees on both sides, is equally beautiful.

GREEN WONDER

The Batim lake, which lies close to the junction, is one of the well-known wetlands in Goa and home to several species of birds. One can reach Batim after travelling 12 kms from Panjim.

DON'T MISS THIS

As you drive inside the village from the lake, you will notice this place which has a spring by the roadside in Maina-Batim.

FLOWING GRACE

But to see this spring, you will have to alight from your car and go around to see the flowing water. Bathing or washing clothes is not allowed at this spring where one can find water throughout the year.

VILLAGE LIFE

HOLINESS

The Batim parish church which is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe. Batim is surrounded by Goa Velha, Pilar, Curca, Santana and Old Goa.

FILLED WITH DIVINITY

The church dedicated to St Simon and St Jude on the Gancim hillock, the highest point of Batim.
