Cucumbers are sold aplenty at this feast. Childless couples throng the church to pray at the feet of St Anne to gift them a child and offer cucumbers while making their wish.
There are no caste and religious affiliations applicable here. People of all faiths pay their respects to St Anne on the feast day.
The High Mass was followed by a procession which has been a tradition since ages.
And no one went without buying 'kadyo bodyo', a must home takeaway to spread the sweetness of the day.
Soon after the High Mass, the Goa police band under ASI Adelino Pereira, displayed its musical prowess catching the attention of churchgoers.
On Sunday, July 31, 2022, this woman kept her date with St Anne to thank her for the gift of a child, a baby girl.
Santana is a sleepy village, some 12 kms from Panjim, which comes alive on the feast day. The village surroundings are a sight to behold in the monsoon.
