Goa cabinet approves ban on Rottweiler and Pitbull dogs

PET POLICY

The Goa State Cabinet has approved a proposal to ban Rottweiler and Pitbull dog breeds in the state. The decision comes as part of efforts to ensure public safety.

ENFORCEMENT

An amendment will be made to the related ordinance soon to enforce the ban effectively.

NEW RULE

Moving forward, there will be no permission to bring Rottweilers or Pitbulls into Goa. Owners of these breeds in the state will have to register with the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department.

PET RESPONSIBILITY

Dog owners will be fully responsible for ensuring that their pets do not harm anyone. This new regulation aims to reduce incidents involving aggressive dog behaviour.
