GOAN SPECIALITY

Goan curries range from simple to rich and complex, and involve roasting, grinding and simmering spices with coconut milk. Here are our favourites.

1. SORPOTEL

In Catholic homes, no special occasion, be it a feast or wedding, is sans this pork delight on their menu. Paired with sanna or bread, the mildly spicy Sorpotel is simply delicious.

2. SOURAK & HOOMAN

Consumed almost daily in the average Goan household, the humble orange curries, Sourak and Hooman, are staples you’ll find in a traditional Goan thali, generally enjoyed with bread or steamed rice.
