The Christmas tree opposite the Margao Municipality in Margao city has been set up for the enjoyment of locals.

MAN WITH A PLAN

The idea was spearheaded by Vikram Verlekar, MD of Ulhas Jewellers PVT LTD, after he witnessed such spectacles abroad.

STRUCK BY AN IDEA

Inspired by Christmas celebrations in foreign countries, Verlekar was struck with the notion of having something identical in Goa.

HARD WORK PAYS

The Christmas tree was planned two months in advance and was set up on November 5, 2024.

SELFIE POINT

Tourists, locals and revellers have been seen queuing near the tree to have their selfies and photos clicked in the city.

CELEBRATION FEVER

The evenings are filled with a lot of cheer as revellers are seen carolling around the Christmas tree and decorations.

FESTIVE SEASON

With support from the various government departments, the Christmas tree and its decorations will be up till January 7, 2025
