The annual Lenten walking pilgrimage was held at Sancoale on February 26, 2023.
Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao, priests, religious and lay Catholics, as well as some people from other religions participated in this walking pilgrimage.
Highlighting the sacrificial aspect of the walk, his eminence reminded the faithful about the sacrifice Jesus Christ offered for the salvation of the world by humbling himself.
Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao himself walked with the people from Goa-Velha to Sancoale.
People began their journey to the venue as early as 12 am.
At the beginning of the season of Lent, this walking pilgrimage is an opportunity for Catholics to do penance and pray.
People have testified that their prayers have been heard as a result of their penitential walk.
