Finally, after its renovation work dragged on for long, Goa's cultural hub, the Kala Academy in Panjim, was opened for the public and the arts and cultural fraternities.

OLD WINE IN NEW BOTTLE

Many equated the renovation work to old wine in new bottle after seeing new cushioning on the old chairs.

Though the formal opening is complete, workers are still on the site carrying out minor works.

FIRST DAY, FIRST SHOW

The opening will be marked by a play titled Ethe Oshalala Mruthyu in which Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude plays the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
