MAKING IT HAPPEN

The Goa government has set up two committees to guarantee the smooth execution of the St Francis Xavier Exposition, scheduled to take place from November 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025.

PANEL 1

The first panel - the Exposition Secretariat - is headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, and also has BJP ministers Mauvin Godinho and Aleixo Sequeira.

PANEL 2

The second panel - High Powered Coordination Committee for Exposition 2024 - is also headed by the Chief Minister.

COORDINATION

The Exposition Secretariat will coordinate with various government departments like police, transportation, local governing bodies, and tourism authorities to ensure necessary arrangements are made and the event runs smoothly.

FOR CONTROL & DECISIONS

The HPCC will be fully authorised to make decisions and carry out all tasks related to the exposition in order to ensure its successful operation, on the condition that the Cabinet approves.

REQUEST TO PMO

Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, announced that his government plans to send a letter to the Prime Minister's Office, requesting him to invite the Pope to visit Goa for the exposition.

VATICAN VISIT

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended a formal invitation to the Pope during their meeting in Vatican City in October 2021, urging him to visit India.
