Several youngsters took to the streets of Goa and held various flashmobs across Goa, to create awareness about drug abuse and illicit Trafficking.

The flashmobs were organised by Human Touch Foundation, in collaboration with Goa Police and the Narcotics Control Bureau, Goa Zone, as part of the upcoming International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Speaking at the inaugural, IPS Director General of Police, Jaspal Singh said that it is good to see youngsters coming forward to create awareness about the substance abuse. "These types of programmes are cost-effective and essential for building resilience, and empowering young people to be more aware about their health," Singh said.

The outreach was conducted under Yes to Life Campaign, an initiative of Human Touch Foundation, supported by United Nation’s Office on Drugs and Crime and Drug Abuse Prevention Centre.

Head of Operations at Human Touch Foundation, Applesta da Costa added that we must seize this day as a unique opportunity to fully engage the government, civil society and the community in actions for effective prevention, and that there was a need to work together to support young people to make positive choices, free from drugs.
