Panjim carnival floats bring to fore social and health issues

This was the message of Arpora's, Mainath Bhatti Group, float which attributed increasing labour costs, industrial competition and water pollution to the dying trade of making traditional salt.

DON'T DRINK & DRIVE

This float depicted the dangers of drunken driving and passed on a terse message: The devil lives in a bottle, don’t let cheers turn into tears.

SAVE WATER

Future wars will be for water and this float went on to depict the urgency of saving this precious resource.  

SAY NO TO PLASTICS

Rid Goa of garbage and plastics was the message of the float by Goa State Urban Development Agency.

EAT MILLETS, STAY HEALTHY

A float by Sameti-Goa State Agriculture Management and Extension Training Institution, Old Goa, focused on health benefits of consuming millets.

AVOID HIGH-FAT FOODS

This floats urged people to avoid unhealthy foods and keep away diabetes, which is the mother of all health complications.
