This summer, if you're looking for a session where young kids can learn about awareness while also being creative, here's a workshop to check out.
From May 23 to 25, a fun, hands-on workshop 'Little Earthkeepers' offers a refreshing space where creativity, eco-awareness, and inner calm come together to inspire young minds at Saraya Art Cafe, Sangolda.
The workshop is divided into two enriching sessions: Eco-Art and Mindful Movement. Through these, children will be able to deepen their connection with nature while nurturing creativity and self-awareness.
EVENT SCHEDULE
Day 1: Making planters from coconut shells: A sustainable way to grow green.
Day 2: Hands-on clay modelling: Giving shape to imagination.
Day 3 (session 1): Upcycled art using scrap fabric, paper, wood and natural treasures: Encouraging eco-friendly creativity and mindfulness.
Day 3 (session 2): Body movement: Yoga, breathwork and guided meditation.
The workshop is divided into two enriching sessions: Eco-Art and Mindful Movement. Through these, children will be able to deepen their connection with nature while nurturing creativity and self-awareness.
In the Eco-Art sessions, kids will craft coconut shell planters, sculpt with clay, and create upcycled art — exploring the natural world through their hands and hearts. Textile upcycling designer and illustrator, Vinaya Palekar, will leads this part of the workshop.
“Art has a way of calming our minds and sparking our imaginations. It’s a beautiful way for kids to explore the world around them while discovering their own creative voices," says Vinaya.
"Through upcycling, we guide children to think sustainably — turning discarded materials into meaningful art and learning to care for themselves and the planet,” she continues.
She adds that the aim of this workshop is to nurture creativity, calm the mind through yoga, and teach them to care for the Earth — all through the magic of art, nature and mindful movement.
Complementing this creative flow is the Mindful Movement session — a playful, calming wellness experience, featuring child-friendly yoga, breathwork and guided meditation.
Kids will learn animal poses, stretches and simple pranayama techniques to cultivate body awareness, emotional balance, and relaxation in a safe, encouraging space. Certified yoga and meditation instructor, Shubhangi Sharma, will be leading this part of the workshops.
Shubhangi says, “In our children’s yoga sessions, every pose, breath and mindful movement helps young hearts to listen to their bodies, calm their minds, and build inner confidence — creating space for strength, stillness, and kindness.
In a screen-filled, fast-paced world, Little Earthkeepers offers a much-needed pause — a nurturing space where children can play, learn and grow.
Whether you’re a Goan family or visiting Goa this May, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to gift your child creativity, calm, and a deeper connection to nature.
Spaces are limited, and so, it's best to register soon. Let your little one become an Earthkeeper and make this summer in Goa truly unforgettable.
