Sugar Mama Soft Serve Bar, opened its doors in the bustling city of Panjim in December 2024, thanks to Pablo Miranda and Carishma Roy. A result of the duo’s combined passions for exceptional flavours and stunning design, Sugar Mama was inspired by the simple idea of creating a playful, sweet spot where people could indulge and enjoy themselves.
“Growing up, soft serve was a nostalgic treat for us, but we realised it hadn’t evolved much over the years. We wanted to bring something fresh and fun to the table by using high-quality ingredients and experimenting with unique flavours,” says Carishma.
And they did just that.
All about creating memorable dessert experiences with bold flavours and playful combinations, at Sugar Mama, the menu is always evolving. You don’t just have sundaes, but freshly baked cookies and sparkly pink lemonade and a unique flavour every month (currently, it's 'Very Berry Strawberry') to choose from and enjoy.
“Our sundaes are crafted using our in-house vanilla soft serve base and are paired with playful creations like Lemon Tart, Tiramisu and Hey Honey!” Carishma highlights, recommending that first-timers try the flavour of the month or opt for the playful and delicious Hey Honey sundae, a delightful mix of pistachios, palmiers and a drizzle of honey.
Sugar Mama also offers vegan options and is committed to expanding their selection, with treats like the Very Berry Strawberry and Guava Chili soft serves.
“If there’s a high demand for a particular flavour, we’re more than willing to experiment and introduce something new. It’s all about keeping the menu dynamic and fun,” shares the owner.
They’re excited to bring back the crowd favourite, Guava Chili, which has a unique blend of sweet and spice and is made with fresh pink guavas along with the Salted Caramel Butter Popcorn flavour, which offers a delicious balance of sweet, salty, and buttery goodness.
“We’re also looking forward to cashew and mango season, as we have some exciting flavour ideas in the works,” she reveals.
But apart from the menu, Sugar Mama’s cosy playful pink kiosk, designed for takeaways, perfectly complements the colourful charm of the neighbourhood, Sao Tome.
“We want our customers to feel a sense of joy and nostalgia when they visit. Whether it’s a quick cone during an afternoon stroll or a late-night sundae run, Sugar Mama is all about indulging in a moment of sweetness and fun,” she says.
Making sure their fun, cool treats are accessible to all, the prices of these delicious soft serves start at Rs 50 and go up to Rs 200 for more elaborate sundaes.
They regularly update and announce their latest flavours on their Instagram handle and also plan on introducing delivery services, so that people can enjoy their sweet creations from the comfort of their homes.
