Living in Goa can be addictive. There’s a serenity in Goa’s salty air and a sense of stillness in her gushing waters that draws everyone to her shores. If you are someone who always wanted to wake up to the lapping of waves, here’s where you can do it.
The bustling tourist hotspot of Morjim recently welcomed Tamalisto, a boutique resort that offers luxurious amenities and a unique ambience, making dreams of living by the beachside a reality.
Surrounded by lush green plants, the walkway leading to Tamalisto prepares you for the different world you will encounter, and even from afar, their distinctively designed rooms that appear like cottages or huts, captivate you at first glance.
But, the real magic unfolds when you step inside.
With a rustic charm yet refined luxury, the 28 rooms on the property are exceptionally inviting. Categorised into executive, luxury and family rooms, these are well-furnished and equipped with comfy beds, side tables and cupboard space to stash your belongings.
Each room has a private bathroom. Depending on the room category, some bathrooms feature a bathtub, giving you the perfect space to unwind. Furthermore, the paintings, mirrors, woven rugs and lampshades add to the overall earthy aesthetics of the property.
And while you enjoy the convenience of the in-room amenities, which include air-conditioning, television, WIFI access and remote control lighting adjustments, Tamalisto spoils you further with their room dining service from 11 am to 11 pm.
Leaving the comforts of the room, you realise there’s much more to explore on the property. Despite the sea around the corner, the four and a half feet pool at the resort, open from 8 am to 11 pm, tempts you to dive in for a quick dip and is a popular spot for families.
Another spot that’s an absolute favourite is their restaurant Tikitii. With upbeat music and stunning interiors, this space has a vibe of its own and truly comes alive at night.
If you book a stay at Tamalisto, brunching at their restaurant, which serves Mexican and Indian dishes, is mandatory. Relish some tacos, chicken sliders, and quesadillas along with their special cocktails with a gin, vodka, and rum or tequila base as you enjoy the breeze right by the sea.
Although there is a cover charge for the restaurant, the fees depend on the day of the week. The resort offers special discounts for those staying with them. But on weekends, table reservations are on first come, first served basis.
So, the next time you are in Goa and looking for an out of the ordinary experience, head to Tamalisto for a perfect beach retreat.
