Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and BJP Goa poll in-charge Devendra Fadnavis confirmed that sitting BJP MLA Dayanand Sopte would get a ticket from Mandrem constituency for the Goa elections 2022.

Former Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsemar has staked a claim to a get ticket from Mandrem.

Fadnavis, who arrived in Goa on Monday, also said that he would be reviewing preparations for the upcoming visit of BJP national president JP Nadda.

"I will be reviewing (preparations) for the visit of our national president," Fadnavis added.

Speaking about a possible alliance with Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, he said a lot has been spoken about the possibility of a pre-poll alliance between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party but "you will see the action happening on that soon".

"I have spoken a lot about it (alliance). What will happen you will see for yourself in action," Fadnavis said.

Speculation is rife over the possibility of an alliance between the two political parties for the upcoming 2022 polls.
