Ribandar Crime Branch police executed the arrest warrant issued by the Extradition Court and arrested an absconding Portuguese national residing in his ancestral house in Betalbatim, Goa.
Crime Branch Goa’s DySP Rajendra Raut Dessai revealed that the team at the Crime Branch Police Station, Ribandar, executed the warrant of arrest issued by the Extradition Court, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate - 01, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi, by arresting an absconding person, namely Jose Inacio Cota, resident of Betalbatim, Salcete – Goa.
The warrantee was wanted for a long time in an extradition matter and will undergo a trial before the Extradition Court, New Delhi. The Portuguese national is wanted for a crime registered against him in London (UK).
The warrantee was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court at Margao and a transit warrant of 4 days was obtained in order to produce him before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate - O1, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi. Crime Branch team will be escorting and producing him before the Extradition Court, New Delhi.
