Three more Goan students return home from Ukraine

Three more students from Goa who were stuck in war-torn Ukraine returned home on Sunday.

With this, 17 students from the State have returned home, while three more students have crossed border from Ukraine to Romania, Hungary and Poland, and have to be evacuted and brought back to India.

Among the students that arrvied on Sunday are Krisha Mistry and Deepika Patil from Ponda while Pratap Mahima Monica from Curtolim landed on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Jaeden Gomes Pereira contiunes to be stranded in Sumy along with hundread of other Indian students.

"The Indian embassy is monitoring the case and have advised the students not to move out unless a clear green corridor is established," Anthony D'Souza, director of NRI affairs, said.

The north-eastern Ukrainian city of Sumy, close to the Russian border, where about 700 Indians students are waiting for rescue.

Under Operation Ganga, 76 flights have brought back 15,920 Indians so far, including 13 that transported 2,500 in the last 24 hours. There are seven flights scheduled over the next 24 hours: an IAF C-17 from Rzeszow in Poland, five from Budapest and one from Suceava (Romania).
