Calangute: Man held for killing ex-wife's uncle

A 37-year-old man was arrested in Calangute on Sunday for allegedly murdering his ex-wife's uncle, police said.

Nitin Gadekar was held in the early hours of the day for killing 57-year-old Joseph Fernandes after entering the latter's restaurant and hitting his head against a cement slab

"The accused person assaulted her uncle by banging his head several times on concrete slab of drainage wherein he sustained a severe head injury and expired on the way to GMC Bambolim," a Calangute police station official said.

"Gadekar also assaulted his ex-wife with fist blows and kicks," he added.
