This is the 300-year-old ancestral home of the ‘de Menezes’ family, and is replete with teak, oak and rosewood carved antique furniture, original art and elegant interiors, all of which take the visitor back in time to the Portuguese era. Old world charm along with modern amenities help to make the stay an even more comfortable one.

THINGS TO DO, PLACES TO SEE

Santa Ana church, one of the oldest churches in Asia; Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Siridao beach, which are in the neighbourbood are well worth visiting.

Guests can also go cycling, check out salt harvesting at the local salt pans, visit the famous church of Sts Simon and Jude, and go birdwatching at Batim hill and Batim lake – a bird watchers’ paradise, attracting a variety of migratory birds, including the Whistling Duck, Cotton Pygmy-goose, Malabar Grey Hornbill, Shoveler, Garganey, Pintail, Kingfisher, Purple Swamphen, Comb Duck, Spot-billed Duck etc.
