Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa state president Sadanand Tanavade said BJP will contest the assembly elections alone as the party has intensified its pre-poll campaign in the state.
“The party has decided to contest elections on its own and has the confidence that we will win with the support of people,” Tanavade said on Monday.
Tanavade was speaking to media persons after chairing a meeting of presidents and general secretaries of the BJP Mandals in Goa where Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was also present,
BJP Goa has also chalked out a strategy where Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and state president Sadanand Tanavade will visit 25 assembly constituencies in Goa from August 10 to September 3. The party leaders will interact with the public in 25 constituencies and will also include clarification on all controversial issues.
Reacting to the appointment of senior Congress leader P Chidambaram as an observer for Goa Congress, Tanavade said BJP does not interfere in the matters of other political parties.
“Every party has a different strategy for the elections, and the strategy of BJP is to meet the people, interact with them and know their problems to provide a solution for the same,” he noted.
BJP national general secretary and Goa in-charge C T Ravi will also visit the state on August 17.
