The health department has launched Tika Utsav 3.2 on September 16 to facilitate the citizens of the state who have not yet received the dose of the corona vaccine.

The vaccination will be carried out in a total of 185 centres as per the demand of village panchayats, including 40 permanent vaccination centres at government hospitals and health centres. At least 70 of these centres will continue to operate every day for the next eight days.

In Goa, the first dose has been given to 100 per cent of the eligible population but the second dose has not been taken by only 55 per cent yet.

The government. has been promoting this event on a massive scale. However, an official at the vaccination centre in Panaji is likely to stay away from the Tika Utsav publicity.

The official at the Don Basco Vaccination Center in Panaji was denying newspaper photographers to take pictures on the premises. When a photojournalist went there, he was asked to get permission from his superiors. The response from the superiors was to let the vaccination centres official understand the importance of promoting the event.
