Parties from Delhi and West Bengal are coming here to plunder Goa. People should beware of such political parties, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Friday.

Raut, who is on a two-day visit to the coastal state, said Goa and Maharashtra have deep linguistic and cultural ties. “Goa-Maharashtra has had a strong relationship for ages. Shiv Sena has a deep relationship with the soil of Goa. Parties from Delhi and West Bengal are coming to Goa to plunder the state. The people of Goa should beware of these looting parties.”

Raut further said that Shiv Sena has its cadre in Goa. ”Shiv Sena has contested elections in Goa. We also performed well with 3-4 seats. In the constituency where Shiv Sena does not have its worker, only there we lost,” he said.

“We are going to contest 22 to 25 seats in the 2022 Assembly elections. We will show the strength of the party,” he added.

Attacking the BJP government, Raut said that BJP led an anti-casino campaign in Goa, but is now supporting it the most. If voted to power, Shiv Sena will shut down casinos

He also said that many tourist spots in the state are in the clutches of drugs and narcotic substances and Shiv Sena will take up employment and drugs issues in the state  “Thousands died in Gpa due to lack of planning. Shiv Sena has done a great job to control Covid-19. Many patients from Goa were taken to Maharashtra for treatment,” he said.

Earlier, Shiv Sena also slammed the BJP government in the editorial in Saamana on Wednesday, “It is the BJP [in Goa] which has truly become a ‘beef party and ‘Hindutva’ is just a mask. When there is a ban on beef in the country, but in Goa, you get cow meat. If this isn’t sham, then what is?” the editorial in Saamana stated.
