MARGAO: A seminar organised by Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Commission for betterment of government employees from the SC/ST community will be held on February 2, at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. The SC/ST Commission is also planning to form a special cell for all the government employees who belong to the SC/ST community, informed chairman of SC/ST Commission Prakash Velip at Margao. He further said, "There are almost seven thousand SC/ST government employees, besides others who are working in aided institutions in Goa. We are planning to unite them and take their benefit for the betterment of the community.” The seminar will be inaugurated in the hands of deputy chief minister Babu Azgaonkar, besides Tribal Welfare Minister Govind Gaude, chairman of SC/ST corporation Durgadas Gaude and other dignitaries will remain present at the function. Central government officer Sandeep Mukharjee will deliver the key-note address on recruitment and promotion of government employees belonging to SC/ST communities. Prakash also informed that Commission is planning to form a special cell at taluka and state level. "The cell will deal with the issues pertaining to SC/ST and will try to resolve it,” he informed.
