Tavelling to Goa? Both COVID-19 vaccine shots must!

People who have taken both the vaccination shots and possess a complete vaccination certificate will be allowed to enter Goa.

On Monday, the Chief Minister of Goa announced that visitors who have taken both doses of the vaccination will be permitted to enter without a COVID-19 negative certificate. Dr Pramod Sawant, at the secretariat, discussed the drop in the positivity rate to six per cent and the simultaneous increase of the recovery rate in a press conference. He said, "People who have taken both the vaccination shots and possess a complete vaccination certificate will be allowed to enter Goa. It can be for those who are coming for tourism, business or other reasons."

During the press meet, CM also said that the state in discussion with private path labs to set up testing facilities at railway stations. Sawant also talked about the possible decrease in the positivity rate to five per cent in the next few days while discussing the COVID-19 situation in the state.

He stated, "Covid is coming under control. Positivity rate is decreasing, recovery rate is increasing. Recovery rate is currently six per cent. In the coming days it will drop to five per cent. Recovery rate is increasing at the same time. By July 30, we will have covered 100 per cent of the first dose."

Amidst the concerns raised by the detection of the Delta Plus variant on neighbouring states, the chief minister announced the extension of the state-wide curfew until 5 July. The chief minister also announced that individuals will be isolated in a facility or will be admitted to a hospital if found infected with the COVID-19 virus. At this current moment, Goa has 1.66 Lakh active cases of COVID-19. About 1.61 lakh individuals have recovered from the virus and 3,046 people have lost their lives.
