‘I usually study the history of the character’

Aru K Verma, who was seen in the Ranveer Singh-starrer Befikre, has some interesting projects in the pipeline. The model-turned-actor will be seen playing a negative character in an upcoming TV show. Without divulging much details, he says, “I am about to sign for a TV show and I can only say that it’s a negative character. I was also in talks with Red Chillies Entertainment for their upcoming projects. I am in the process of signing the projects now as everything has been finalised.” His next is composer Ismail Darbar’s directorial Teen Tigdam, which is set to release soon.

Aru is happy with the appreciation that’s he got for Aditya Chopra’s Befikre. He says the whole experience was breathtaking and that people have started recognising him now. “ Recently, I was flying from Delhi to Mumbai and my flight was delayed. A 6-year-old walked upto to me and asked me if I was the one who got a scolding from Alia. ‘You shouldn’t have asked her for the money,’ he told me, referring to a scene in the movie Two States. Then he wanted to click a picture with me,” says the actor who has worked in films like Rockstar, Love Express, Jo Dooba So Paar, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, Karle Pyar Karle, Bezubaan Ishq and Wedding Pulav besides Two States.

Aru is slowly making his way in both films and TV. He says that he enjoys both the mediums. “Both the mediums are very different from each other. While TV allows you more creative freedom, films follow a certain graph. TV is dramatic but spontaneous. Films are more spontaneous. I have noticed the difference while shooting for a film and TV show simultaneously,” says Aru who was also part of &TV’s Begusarai.
