On the occasion of the Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, the Consulate General of Portugal in Goa, Camões - Centro de Língua Portuguesa (CLP), Panjim, and the Delegation of Fundação Oriente in Goa, India are organizing a Portuguese Guitar Recital by the renowned Portuguese guitarist, Ricardo Jorge da Ponte Martins, on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Maquinez Palace, Panjim.
The event will also feature Goan fadista Sónia Shirsat and musician Franz Schubert Cotta on the guitar.
Passes for the show will be available from June 5, 2023 at Fundação Oriente, Fontainhas, Panjim or Camões-CLP, Panjim.
ABOUT THE ARTISTE
Martins recorded his first instrumental Portuguese guitar album, titled Ricardo J. Martins in 2014, which was followed by Cantos e Lamentos in 2017.
In April 2018, his song Corre Corre Corridinho won the Best Instrumental Music award by the IPMA (International Portuguese Music Awards).
The video clip for the song, Escapismo, received the Best Video award at the GEOARTE Festival organised by the Portuguese Association of Geologists.
Martins has done concerts in various countries including Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Canada, China, Ukraine, India, Venezuela and Cape Verde.
He has also performed with noted musicians Viviane (Entre Aspas), Marco Rodrigues, Filipa Cardoso, Ana Sofia Varela, Ilda Maria, Cremilda Medina, Alexandra, Ronda dos Quatro Caminhos and Pedro Jóia Trio.
