PEOPLE FOR PANJIM PARKS & COMEPOSTVILLE’S MARKET

The People for Panjim Parks (PPP) and ComePostVille group will conduct the third edition of the Farmer’s Market and seed/sapling exchange huddle on April 24, 2022 at St Mary’s Colony Multi-sports playground. The event is in collaboration with the corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP). “Mango Mania” is the theme for this year’s market.

There will a series of talks, such as caring for succulents by Divya Desai; cocostick in a pot by Subbu Nayak; bioenzymes by Selma Viegas; home composting by Allwyn Siqueira; tips on opening a jackfruit; tips for processing local fruits (bimbli, starfruit) by Geeta Signapurkar.

Local produce sold by farmers, compost and soil supplements in addition to an array of delectable eats and cooling drinks will be available.

A variety of plants, jeevamrut, seeds, saplings, vermicompost, food, beverages, pickles, Goan red rice, handmade products, artwork, handicrafts, pottery items, Jute bags, mandala art, mangoes, prawn dangar, fish cutlets, waffles, laddoos, Moira banana chips, non-alcoholic perfume, pickles, chaat, sugarcane juice, homemade brownies, waffles, street food and more will be on sale.

Citizens are requested to bring their own plates, containers, glasses and bags to reduce disposables and help protect the environment.

PPP is a non-profit, volunteer movement which aims at reviving community spaces and encouraging local farmers, artisans and entrepreneurs.
