Looking for delicious, yet healthful food options? How about trying out the salad bowls at 'Earth Salad'. Packed with greens, proteins, carbohydrates, etc, these bowls are a specialty of Earth Salads, a Margao-based cloud kitchen.
The idea behind starting the Earth Salads venture was simple, says Pranal Naik Desai, who heads Earth Salads. Says he, "We were looking for healthy food options, but there weren't any!"
Everything that was available was regular food like biryani, fried rice, etc. Therefore, the need to create, or bring, healthy meal option came up.

Twenty six-year-old Pranal hails from Quepem. Before setting up Earth Salads, he was a Computer Science Engineer, and later, was part of the food industry. He says that in Goa, he realised that there was quite a demand for healthy food, but barely any options available.
"We wanted to give people 'real' food, which is fresh and healthy, too, and that was the thought that gave birth to Earth Salads," added Desai.
AND, THEY OFFER...
Earth Salad offers a wide range of salad bowls. "These salad bowls consists of carbohydrates, proteins and greens. So, every salad bowl that we make has 50% greens in it, 25% protein and 25% carbs. It is like a complete meal," says Desai.
VARIETY OF FLAVOURS
In order to bring in the local elements and flavours, they serve bowls with local flavours such as Cafreal, Goan Farmhouse, etc.
Besides this, the menu also lists Watermelon Feta Salad, Thai Crunch, Eastern Nourish Bowl, Zesty Chickpea Salad, Rainbow Salad and more, that customers can check out.
"We want to change the general perception. We want to say that a salad can be healthy as well as a whole meal," adds Desai.
The aim of Earth Salad is to provide alternative food choices for the health-conscious. "We don't want to say 'don't eat this or that', but provide the people -- who are concerned about their health -- with healthy meal options that they can enjoy."
INCHING TOWARDS ECO-FRIENDLY
While, Earth Salads is working towards providing a holistic meal to its customers, they are also working on the packaging, which is eco-friendly and is made from bridgeable packaging by sugarcane bagasse.
