Book launch @ Camões-Centro de Língua Portuguesa, Panjim
Camões-Centro de Língua Portuguesa (CLP), Panjim, is hosting a book launch of Nuno Lopes’ Heritage of Defence Goa 1510 – 1660 on October 1, 2022 at the Camões premises in Panjim. The book, which was translated by Júlio Martins and published by Goa 1556, will be launched at the hands of historian and author Amita Kanekar and Professor Walter Rossa. It will be followed by a book signing session by the author.
Nuno Lopes holds a PhD in Heritage of Portuguese Influence (Architecture and Urbanism) from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. He is a researcher and Executive Co-ordinator of the UNESCO chair on Intercultural Dialogue on Heritages of Portuguese Influence, where he focuses on the themes of Heritage, Urbanism, Sustainable Development, Strategic Planning and Creative Economy.
He has also been a pedagogical and scientific advisor, peer reviewer of scientific articles, has produced and edited publications, organized cooperation projects and scientific meetings in Portugal, Cabo Verde, India and Mozambique.
Lopes’ book, Heritage of Defence, analyses the old defence system in Goa (1510-1660), and focuses on the uniqueness of Goa within a South Asian context.
