Looking to stock up on local produce before the arrival of the monsoons in Goa? Then, check out the upcoming 'Purument Fest', organised by Tanishka Women’s Network of Gomantak to be held at the Dr F Luis Gomes Garden, opposite Kala Academy, Campal on May 12, 2023 and May 13, 2023.
Locally produced and organic items such as chillies, kokum, tamarind, cashew nuts, chepnim (raw mango in brine), pickles, homemade garam masala, jackfruit chips, local salt, parboiled rice, kidney beans, ragi, turmeric, pepper, jaggery, etc will be on sale at the fest.
Visitors can purchase a variety of essential kitchen ingredients which will be available. In the evenings, there will also be a cultural programme which will provide a glimpse of the local culture and heritage.
Tanishka Women’s Network of Gomantak has been working to empower, uplift and support women and encourage them to come forward and make an identity of their own.
