Fundacao Oriente India, Panjim, is organizing its 7th Fundacao Oriente Short Story Competition. Entries for the competition will be accepted between August 15, 2023 and August 30, 2023.
The winning and short-listed stories will be translated into English and published in the anthology ‘Short Stories from Goa’ in 2024.
Individuals in the age group of 18 years and above, and who reside in Goa, are eligible to enter the competition.
Short stories can be submitted by, both, amateur and professionals and can be written in Konkani (Devanagari or Romi), Marathi, Portuguese and English.
The winners will be declared at a function on December 8, 2023.

The first edition of Fundação Oriente Short Story Competition was held in 2011. Through this competition, Fundação Oriente aims to encourage the art of storytelling and original writing, while also keeping Goa’s culture and linguistic diversity alive.
