Goa Pradesg Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar on Tuesday, Januart 1, asstered that Unione Home Minister Amit Shah's promise on resumption of mining is just another jumla as BJP at the centre and state to restart the mining in Goa for several years.

Addressing the press conference in the presence of AICC spokesperson Alka Lamba, Chodankar said, "Amit Shah is known for his Jumla politics. he had come to Goa few days back, when a someone asked him about the 15 lakhs on bank accounts, Shah replied everything was jumla (false promises). The same way when he has promised about resuming mining as it is also another false promise given to Goans."

He further said 'mining will resume' is BJP's recurring statement since 2012. "When Prime Minister was elected in 2014, Manohar Parrikar had not approved illegal mining since 2012, even Supreme Court mentioned Parrikar's statement, but even after Parrikar's demise, BJP govt has so many years to start the mining, but they kept on giving excuses", he said.

He said anti-bahujan BJP has stopped the mining in the state as the Bahujan communities were earning from the mining activities.

The announcement was made by Amit Shah is to influence 3 lakh voters and people from mining category, he said.

"When the state and the central govt was in the favour of Prime minister Modi and BJP then who stopped them from starting?," he questioned.

He alleged BJP wants to sell mines to Chronic Club who is familiar to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Chodankar demands Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to announce all the dates and minister's who have made announcements about resuming mining since 2012.

AICC Spokesperson Alka Lamba & GPCC President Shri Girish Chodankar, Congress Women President Beena Naik and Youth President Varad Mardolkar were present at the conference.
