Former Saligao MLA Dilip Parulekar on Thursday joined BJP candidate Jayesh Salgaonkar from the Saligao constituency as part of his door-to-door campaigning in the Pelerne area.

The former foes-turned-colleague were also joined by hundred of party workers in the PDA colony. In the 2017 Assembly, Jayesh, who had contested from the Saligao seat from Goa Forward Party, defeated former tourim minister and BJP leader Dilip Parulekar.

The campaign was launched from the PDA colony area along with the presence of hundreds of party workers.

Addressing media, Parulkar said, "It is certain that the BJP will come into power in the state and no matter how much Michael Lobo lures the workers and voters, the voters won't fall victim to his promises, as his true face has come to light."

"Lobo is trying to gain power in politics for his own good by deceiving the people. Previously he had said that how he wanted to work for the builder lobby by selling lands in Saligao and hills in Siolim. He has not done anything to the people of Goa and hence is trying to challenge the country's PM.,"

"Saligao is with BJP as Jayesh will definitely win in the elections as a MLA and BJP will re-estabish the government in Goa," he added.
