Goa Forward Parrty General Secretary Durgadas Kamat on Friday, November 3, alledged that the BJP government free water scheme is a farce and urged Chief Minister to "stop fooling and looting people of Goa".

Addressing a press conference in Margao, Kamat said that hundreds of people have complained about the water bills.

“Chief Minister had announced that from 1st September people will get 16000-litre water-free. Subsequently, our leader Vijai Sardesai on 3rd September had said that the scheme of giving 16 cubic meters water-free is nothing but a hidden agenda of BJP to loot the public. This is proven today.” Kamat said.

Sardesai further said that the calculation of the new water tariff clearly shows that the Chief Minister was looting people by increasing the water tariff by 60 per cent.

“Government is looting people by saying it is giving water for free.” Kamat asserted.

Kamat said that people have received the bills to the tune of Rs. 5000 to 10000 for usage. “BJP tried to divert several issues, which were against them, by announcing a free water scheme. But now it has got exposed.” Kamat said.
