Morjim Sarpanch Vaishali Shetgaonkar along with other panch members joined BJP in presence of Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte in Morjim on Sunday, January 9.

Morjim Panch members including Shanti Mandar Poke, Amit Shetgaonkar, Tushar Shetgaonkar and Vilas Morje also joined the party.

Speaking on the occasion, Vaishali said, that we have now officially joined BJP. "In the last election, the party did not give us any responsibility. My support and supporters will be with the BJP party from today," she said.

She further stated that MLA Dayanand Sopte worked hard to provide employment to the youth.

"MLAs were elected from this constituency earlier became ministers, deputy chief ministers and chief ministers. They only offered government jobs in one house,' she said.

Sarpanch Vaishali Shetgaonkar appealed to the people of Morjim to vote for BJP and said that there is no alternative for the state without BJP in future also.

BJP inspector Gorakh Mandrekar, Goa Tourism Development Corporation Director Sudesh Sawant, Women North Goa President Nayani Shetgaonkar, women president Deepa Talkar, Deputy Panch Amit Shetgaonkar, Former Sarpanch Dhananjay Shetgaonkar, Pernem Mayor Usha Nagvekar and among others with a large number of supports were also present at the event.

On Sunday, Dayanand Sopte along with supporters began his door to door campaign in Morjim.
