BJP workers in the Sanguem constituency have demanded a cabinet berth for Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldesai, expressing displeasure over the swearing-in of eight ministers as Subhash Phaladesai's name was not mentioned in it.
Hundreds of BJP workers from Sanguem had gone to the swearing-in ceremony today, hoping that Sanguem would get the ministerial post, but BJP workers said that they were disappointed as the Sanguem constituency was not included in the list of ministers.
BJP workers claimed that BJP candidates have been won the Sanguem five times, however, the constituency is still deprived of a ministerial post.
"Sange constituency is the stronghold of BJP. The constituency is geographically very large and has a high population of Scheduled Tribes, ministerial post is imperative for the overall development of this constituency," former MLA Vasudev Gavkar said.
"Ponda taluka has got three ministerial posts but Sanguem is deprived of ministerial posts. The names of the remaining three ministerial posts have not been announced and we demand to include Subhash Phaldesai's name in it," said Suresh Kepekar, district panchayat member.
