South Goa collector on Monday lodged a complaint at Fatorda Police station against four TV channels for airing interviews with politcal figures and violating the code of conduct.
According to Election Commission, broadcasting of interviews of any political party or political person was banned 48 hours before the polls.
A case has been registered under Section 188 of the Penal Code under the Representation of the People Act for violating the rule.
On Monday, Goa Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Kunal had directed North Goa Collector to initiate action against a Delhi-based TV channel for airing an allege sting operation on Sunday. The sting interview showed TMC and Congress candidates taking money to defect after elections.
CEO Kunal said North Goa Collector Ajit Roy has been asked to take action as per Sectior 126 of the Representation of People Act.
