TMC-MGP has announced an alliance ahead of Goa Polls

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) party, along with the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), on Sunday, January 2, said youngsters will be provided with a credit facility up to Rs 20 lakh sans any collateral if the two parties are voted to power in the Assembly elections.
TMC Leader Yatish Naik said that youths can avail of a credit facility up to Rs 20 lakh with four per cent annual interest under the scheme. "Under the 'Yuva Shakti Card' scheme, youths can avail of a credit facility up to Rs 20 lakh with four per cent annual interest. Those who will avail of this card will not be required to provide any collateral to the bank as the government will stand as guarantor for them," he said,
"This scheme will be implemented if the TMC-MGP alliance is voted to power. This scheme will help youngsters to either be gainfully employed or to start a new business, Naik said.
He said the new government will tie-up with financial institutions, and the difference between the actual interest rate and the four per cent rate would be borne by the government.
This credit facility will help youth for skill-oriented learning, launching a start-up or upgrading business, he said.
Naik said that the people in the 18-45 age group can apply, irrespective of their annual income, for the 'Yuva Shakti Card'.
According to Naik, this scheme will put an annual burden of Rs 350 crore to Rs 1,100 crore on the state exchequer, which he said is achievable.
Ramakrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalika said the TMC-MGP alliance will provide good governance by replicating the governance model of Bhausaheb Bandodkar and Shashikala Kakodkar. “If leakages and corruption are cut down, Goa will have enough money to run the scheme,” he said. “I know the problems of the younger generation, especially the students, who face financial issues when pursuing higher education or professional degree courses,” he said.
TMC leaders Churchill Alemao, Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco and Kiran Kandolkar, and Maharashtravadi Gomantak Party (MGP) leader Sudin Dhavalikar were present on the occasion.
