The process of voting through ballot at homes of the senior citizen and person with disabilities (PWD) began in Goa on Sunday, February 6.

To promote maximum voter participation and ensure safe polling in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic, the Election Commission (EC) has processed and begun voting by ballot at homes of those concern, with the goal of making voting more simple for senior citizens and those with disabilities.

The polling staff had to spend a significant amount of time verifying the voter's information and completing the paperwork, setting cardboard for secrecy etc . They also assigned a videographer, a micro observer, and even a candidate representative which turned into a time-consuming process.

"We have to follow certain procedures and do everything correctly. It takes times and cannot be rushed," said polling staff.

For voting the timing was scheduled at 11. am on Sunday. Senior citizens above the age of 80 years in rural areas of different taluka will get the benefit of this facility.

The 2022 Assembly election is scheduled on 14 February and the counting of the votes will be on March 10.
