There are around 30,000 people in Goa’s Dhangar community which are mostly settled in the Sattari belt. They belong to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category and have been seeking reservations under the ST category for years.
The meeting of the CM-led delegation to get reservation of the Dhangar community comes just a few months ahead of Goa Assembly elections due in February 2022.
Before he met with Arjun Munda, Goa Chief Minister also met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
