Continuing with the rising trend, Goa reported 3,390 new Covid-19 infections on Thursday, January 20, as the total active cases rise to 22,460.

The test positivity rate stood at 40.86 per cent. There were nine fatalities in the coastal state in the last 24 hours and the death toll has reached 3,585.

A 57-year-old woman from Assolna was brought dead to South Goa district hospital while a 67-year-old man from Calangute passed away at Redkar hospital. Three people passed away at Goa Medical college while one died at home.

The deaths were reported from Benaulim, Calangute, Chicalim, Assolna, Zuaringar, Canacona, Ponda, Margao and Caranzalem.

In the last 24 hours, Goa has conducted 8,295 tests. As many as 64 people were hospitalised in the last 24 hours while 3,326 remain in home isolation.

The recovery rate has also further dropped to 88.29 per cent.
