
Goa Men's T20 team played two practice matches against Haryana ahead of the upcoming domestic season. It was mixed day for the Goan side as the team won first game and lost the second practice match against Haryana
Goa's Aditya Kaushik, Sumiran Amonkar, Amogh Desai and Ishan Gadekar displayed great batting prowess in both matches.
In the first game, Haryana won the toss and elected to bat first. But Goan bowlers were in top form as they restricted Haryana to just 136 runs in 20 overs and took seven wickets. Lakshay Garg (4-0-39-2), Nihal Surlakar (4-0-30-1) and Darshan Misal (4-0-15-2) were among the wickets.
Goa had a flamboyant start, scoring 75 runs in just the first eight overs. Openers Ishant Gadekar and Aditya Kaushik had great starts. But Gadekar was soon run out on the score of 42.
Aditya continued the onslaught with Shubham Ranjane, who scored a steady 28 in 21 balls to take Goa past the finish line. Aditya carried his batting through the innings and finished with a score of 60 runs with four fours and three sixes. The final score was Goa 137 for 2 in 16.4 overs.
In the second match, Goa batted first and put up a respectable score of 159 runs in 20 overs. Amogh Desai (39 runs, 31 balls, 4 fours, 1 six), Sumiran Amonkar (48 runs, 40 balls, 5 fours) were the pick of the batters.
Keenan Vaz (27), Vishwambar Kahlon (20 not out), Samar Dubhashi (12), Rajshekhar Harikant (10) also had valuable contributions.
But in the second innings, Goa had no answers for the Haryana top order. Skipper Nitin Saini (61 not out) and Guntesh Veer Singh (80) helped Haryana win the match by nine wickets. Ritwik Naik was the lone wicket-taker for Goa.
