A tourist bus carrying 20 passengers met with a serious accident near Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, on Saturday, February 26.

The driver of the bus was also injured and is undergoing treatment at the GMC, while most passengers have sustained minor injuries.

According to the police, the accident took place at 11.50 am on Saturday, when the bus was hurtling down the highway from Margao to Panjim at breakneck speed, and collided into two cars, before ramming onto the side of the road.

The police speculate that the driver most likely lost control of the bus, leading to the accident.

On Friday, February 25, a 47-year-old resident of Cuncolim-Priol died on the spot, while his wife suffered major injuries, in an accident at GMV circle, Farmagudi.
