In a shocking incident, two persons, who are Nepali nationals, have been arrested in connection with the rape of a 36-year-old woman from Punjab at a well-known restaurant in North Goa's Siolim on Tuesday, December.
The two accused have been identified as Rakesh Thapa and Muskan Pradhan, and worked at the same restaurant.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Saturday, December 18, when the victim landed at a well-known restaurant with her male accomplice to attend a special party. When the victim had gone to a bathroom of the restaurant, the two accused took forcefully her inside the toilet and raped her.
A complaint was lodged at Panaji police station on Monday night. The accused have been booked under sections 375, 376 (d), 354 and 328 of the Indian Penal Code and have been remanded in police custody for seven days.
